Some awards are offered based on academics and other achievements, some are based on financial need, and others are hybrid awards and consider students’ grades, involvement outside of the classroom, and financial need. As a result, we do not list award values based on grades alone.

2.     The Presidents Awards

This scholarship is available for graduate students, Canadian and international students; the scholarship is open to both entrance and current students. Presidents’ awards cover tuition fees, excluding incidental fees.

3.     Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship

The Vanier Canada Graduate scholarship program is one of the popular scholarship awards. This scholarship is open for an applicant applying or a current Doctoral student; it is also available to Canadian or international students. This scholarship program is designed to support domestic and international students who want to pursue doctoral degrees at Canadian universities.

The Vanier Canada graduate scholarship is valued at $50,000 for up to three years. The Vanier Canada graduate scholarship always opens in mid-June each year. 

4.     WEAREALLCS Women in Technology Entrance Scholarship

5.     Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarships – Doctoral (African)

Nova Scotia is one of the popular scholarship programs among others, and it is well recognized by most universities in Canada and outside Canada. This program provides over $3 million per year funding research graduates at Dalhousie University.

The Nova Scotia scholarship is valued at $15,000/year, awarded annually for four years, while Master’ser’s level award is valued at $10,000/year for two years. The scholarship is open for only incoming doctoral students at Dalhousie University. It is available to Canadian and international students.

6.     Indigenous Graduate Scholarship

There is a provision for Canadian citizens who want to pursue their graduate studies (Masters or Doctoral) at Dalhousie University. The scholarship is open for new and current students, and it is renewable. The scholarship is valued at $15,000 per year.
