The Women in Aviation Scholarship was created to assist deserving female students enrolled in aviation schools with their academic goals. The AAAE Foundation has raised more than $1.2 million since late 2015 and has established a total of six Women in Aviation Scholarships, each with a $5,000 yearly grant.
103 scholarships for a combined $473,000 were given out by WAI during the 33rd Annual International Women in Aviation Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, from March 17–19, 2022. In order to support and advance members’ interests in aerospace engineering, aircraft maintenance, flight training, helicopter ratings, dispatch, and professional development, the 2022 WAI scholarship program offered a number of career choices. 47 of the 149 scholarships given by WAI were funded by a $250,000 gift from the Conrad N.
Hilton Foundation, totaling an award value of $731,805. More than $14.5 million in scholarships have been given out by WAI overall since 1995. WAI is also providing 98 unique scholarships worth a combined $479,505 in 2022. For people in different phases of life, these 98 scholarships worth $479,505 are available for flying training, engineering, maintenance, dispatching, drones, and professional development.
Over 100 scholarships are anticipated to be posted by the autumn, with more scholarships and internships to be added in the upcoming weeks and months. The number of scholarships an applicant may apply for each year is three, and they are urged to often check for new ones.
Eligibility: The recipient must be a full-time student enrolled in an aviation program with a grade point average of 3.5 or better, be at least a junior in class, or be a graduate student.
Deadline: The WAI Scholarships for 2023 are now open! Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on October 12, 2022, and applicants must be active WAI members as of October 1, 2022.
Many scholarships are available to active personnel, transitioning military members, and persons of any gender; they are not just available to women or students. During their banquet during the 2023 Women in Aviation International (WAI) Annual Conference in Long Beach, California, scholarship winners will be revealed. As on October 1, 2021, the candidate must be a member of WAI in order to be eligible for a scholarship. Scholarship applications must be received by October 12, 2021.
