Admission Requirement for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery for UNIUYO for 2023/2024
Students or candidates for the MB.B. Degree Programme can either be accepted through the competitive examination conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on the basis of accepted criteria, for a six-year programme, or by direct entry for a particular year programme, for those with a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GC/HSC) or a Good Class Diploma in Science. For those admitted through UTME, a credit pass is required in five subjects from the SSCE or equivalent examination at a maximum of one sitting each or a combination of both.
This pass is compulsory for subjects such as Physics and Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, as well as English Language. Direct Entry students must have a good pass in Chemistry, Physics and Biology, as well as a Credit Pass in English Language from the World School of Economics and Social Sciences (WASCE), or a Credit Pass in. English Language from the equivalent examination.
NOTE: If a candidate has a score of 0 or below in the post-exam result of any of these subject(s), it means that they either shadowed the incorrect subject(s), did not shadow them at all, or shadowed the wrong Jamb registration number or incorrect Jamb score.
