In order to be eligible for admission to the Nigerian Defence Academy, applicants must meet the university requirements.

  • Applicants must be physically and medically fit, have good moral character, be single men or women who do not have to support any children or other individuals and present a Certificate of state of origin from the State Government or Local Government area. They must also be 17 years of age and no more than 21 years of age as of August 2024, the year of the Academy’s entry.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of five ordinary level credits in GCE, SSCE (West African Examinations), NECO (National Examinations of Education), NECO (NECO), NBAIS and any other subject relevant to the course of study at a minimum of two sitting.
  • Applicants should also have a minimum national standard of English language, Maths and any other subject that is relevant to the planned course of study.
  • This requirement is laid down by the annual policy meeting of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
  • Candidates must be at least 1.68 m in height for men and at least 1.65 m for women.
